Home of Loving Havanese Companion and Show Dogs
OUR HAVANESE ARE REGISTERED WITH THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB AS LAMONTAÑA HAVANESE
RICO debuted in the show ring in May 2008 in Utah. He completed his Championship competing in California, Idaho and at the 2008 Regional and Havanese Club of America National shows. At the Regional he took first in his class. He placed second at the National. He has also won BPIS and Best Of Breed.
He will always be a superstar in our hearts and will soon sire our first litter.
CH RICO has received his CHIC#606 38. Check out his Pedigree and Health page. He is Pattie's heart boy and helps by bringing in the newspaper every morning. He also is learning the weave poles and loves to run through the tunnel.
ChaCha followed in RICO’s footsteps. In June 2008, she won Best of Breed over 8 puppy Havvys at an AKC B match and then took a Toy Group II. She showed in Boise, ID where she won her first major. She also did very well, placing in the ribbons at the 2008 Regional and National Specialty Shows. Now a Champion, she has had a great show career so far! She was shown at the 2009 Havanese Club of America National & Regional Specialties as a Special and made the cut both days.
See ChaCha’s pages including her Show Career & Pedigree. ChaCha has passed her CERF, BAER, Cardiac her hips, patellas and Legge-Calve-Perthes tests. ChaCha's CHIC number is #64371. She will be bred to RICO at her next season. I can smell the puppy breath already.
Watch for Pearl in the show ring. She has charm to spare. Pearl has won Winners Bitch five times already and was shown at the 2009 Havanese Club of America National Specialty and the Regional where she placed third both days in a large class of girls. She will attend the 2010 Havanese Club of America National.
Pearl is still too young for her official OFA X-rays,but she passed her BAER and cardiac tests. Her patellas and heart are normal and her preliminary hips are normal.
See LaPerlita’s pages for more photos, her Show Career and her Pedigree.

OUR PHILOSOPHY ON RAISING healthy, happy HAVANESE
Having bred and shown Newfoundlands for many years, I am once again looking forward to producing my first Havanese litter in autumn, 2010. The pairing will be of ChaCha and RICO. See their photos above and click on their individual pages in the top links.
Raising puppies takes knowledge, skill, preparation and supreme dedication to doing one's best to better the breed. This is what I plan to accomplish with this breeding in my small way. Both prospective parents are not only Champions themselves, but come from a long line of proven champions. However, more importantly, both have passed their health tests, the true indicator of good breeding stock. If you are interested in finding the Havanese puppy love of your life, feel free to contact me at pattie8127@sbcglobal.net to chat about the upcoming litter.
Our puppies will be lovingly raised in our home as are our "big dogs", living with us and their adult counterparts, playing underfoot, spending their time with their mother so that she can train them to be good puppies, with constant attention by and socialization with all manner of folks. They will be tested for personality types at 7 weeks of age, reviewed for conformation at 8 weeks of age and released to their forever homes at between 10-12 weeks of age.
The puppies will go home with a lovely puppy package including their very own family history book, their pedigree, their individual vet record, a blanket that smells of mommy and their siblings, their food list, and other fun little items.
I am very particular about where and with whom my puppies will spend the rest of their lives. My husband always said that getting a Newf puppy from me was worse than having to go through an adoption agency. I don't imagine that I will feel any differently about my Havanese puppies. I just want them to be part of a wonderful home life. The good thing is that I will be supportive and as generous with my time as possible.
If you NEED a Havanese puppy RIGHT NOW, check out my links page for a list of breeders who have been influential in mentoring me and who MAY have puppies. But please keep in mind that you will very likely have to be on a waiting list as well.
WELCOME to the home of LaMontaña Havanese! We hope you enjoy the pages devoted to our Havanese: RicoSuave, ChaCha and LaPerlita.

We are Pattie and Pat Zielke.
See the About Us page for more and to see our Havanese Links page for important information about them and if you are so inclined,
the remembrance page of our glorious Z’Ourgang Newfs. Our love of dogs began well over 20 years ago when we bred and showed
the Newfoundland dog as Z’ourgang Newfs. We showed them to Championships, Group placements & Group wins and even had a BIS
winner. The Remembrance Page is devoted to them because they dwell in our hearts forever - go to Links to access it.
Before
we decided to bring Havanese into our lives, we spent a great deal of time researching the breed and breeders. We continue
to learn about Havanese every day — and that is the joy of loving and living with Havanese.
